Righto, sorted (hopefully)
I’ve had a chat with someone at The Little Brown Jug in Chiddingstone Causeway.
They do a superb breakfast, have a decent car park, not usually very busy & are open from 9.00am.

The Little Brown Jug | Chiddingstone Causeway | Little Brown Jugthelittlebrownjug.co.uk

The added bonus is we can decide on the route when we meet in the morning as there’s several options which we can adjust to suit the weather conditions.
We used to go there a lot & it’s a great pub.
I’m thinking we meet at Tescos at 8.30am, drool over Terry P’s new Tamora then head to the pub from there on a mutually agreed route. If the weather behaves we could even do the scenic route home!
Rob G, this would suit you well to as you could join us for a bit of a drive or come for brekky once you’ve dropped your daughter off.
So who’s in?
All the best
Nick

Cowfold is a nice drive but I imagine it's going to be busy tomorrow given the special day. It's a Mecca at the best of times.
Wherever you decide I'm going to do my best, just have to start my drive from Tunbridge Wells at 09:30 instead of local. Don't worry about me though, you do you guys and I'll catch up

Yes Robin I would imagine that’s the case as it’s not the sort of place we could just rock up to for a mooch about.
I’m still trying to work out what would suit us best for a drive.
The golf club where Mid Kent meet comes to mind as it’s just up the road from the airfield so we could do the same route.
Rye is a great drive but if the weathers been bad overnight the roads could be iffy.
East Sussex are heading to Hawkhurst Fisheries for brekky, it’s a nice venue but not a very long drive once we’re off the A21.
Cowfold comes to mind but the car park on a wet day isnt great.
The car show at Smarden is tempting but it doesn’t start until midday. We could stay in bed a little later and watch live coverage of 30,000 marathon runners fighting 50,000 Just Stop Oil protesters having a fight on live TV! Despite being outnumbered my moneys on the runners as they’ll already be warmed up, they’ll have the crowd on their side & it’s dead easy to kick the living sh*t out of someone if they’ve glued their face to the road!
I’m thinking the golf club but I’m happy to hear your thoughts re venue & weather conditions.
Answers on a postcard please, or on here if you prefer.
Much love
Nick

I had a chat with the manager at Dylan Miles a week or two ago - I think you need to book an appointment but there are always a few nice classics to view through the window.

...I also have to drop my daughter in Tunbridge Wells for 09:30 this Sunday.   Could always all meet in Tesco's and convoy her down there!  I was going to drop her then meet you guys wherever the target area was.
There is a lovely new dealership near The Pantiles in T.Wells called Dylan Miles (https://dylan-miles.com/) who has some lovely stock.  Not sure if they're open but it's worth window shopping at least if you're driving through the area

Hi Nick I have received information that Headcorn has been cancelled due to the weather conditions and the state of the field. Its a shame as I was going to try and meet you for the drive.  Hope this is some help.  Mark S3

Before you continue to Google Maps app.goo.gl

Hi all
See above tor the route from Tescos at Riverhead to Headcorn Airfield, hopefully you can open the link on your phone & have it with you on Sunday.
To be honest it’s the same route we used last time we went. Phil & I also did it in reverse coming back from a recent Mid Kent meet & it’s a cracking drive.
The meet starts at 10.00am but we can get there a little earlier so I suggest we meet at Tescos at 8.45am.
The weathers a bit up & down early doors but with luck we’ll get away with it.
Please don’t forget you will need £3.00 to get out of the field via a machine on the gate. So don’t bring a fiver & expect change cos it won’t happen!
If you want to meet us somewhere along the route please let me know where you plan to be.
All the very best

Evening all.

This Sunday is National Drive It Day where owners of classic cars are encouraged to get their cars out and enjoy the company of like minded friends.

I’ve been wondering what to do that would work well for us and after a bit of research Headcorn Airfield came to mind.

It appears there’s a classic car meet at Headcorn from 10.00am & I’ve spoken to the organisers & we’re welcome to pop along.

Last time we went there we had a great drive & a decent breakfast at the airfield so I’m thinking a similar route would be good fun.

I need to do a bit more research on the route but suspect we would meet at Tescos in Riverhead around 8.30am but this is very much to be confirmed.

The weather will play a major part in our plans but hopefully we’ll be ok.

At this stage an idea re numbers would be a great help so please let me know on here if you’d like to join us. I’ll confirm the finer details later in the week.

All the best

Nick.
