Funny you should ask -
My last email to him had this in it:
"Simple question Laird —I sent you a complete set of plans on the 4th of May for an
observatory Carl Gismondy had approved in 2014 and completed in 2015. I’ve included them
again with this email. Why don’t you contact Carl, and ask if you can copy his design?
The plans were the basis for the BARO observatory and I’m sure if you ask he’ll say yes.
The observatory has proven to be durable and it would give you a model to look at while
you construct one of your own"
I'm trying to convince him to do this the easy way. He's not listening.

Good point Dave. I wonder why he can’t just stick to a standard design.

Well, it is a nice looking shed, but it has a solid aluminum floor setting on a
solid wood or concrete foundation. It can't move over/around a permanent pier
or tripod. Cutting or notching the floor would destroy the structural
integrity. He needs a STANDARD SkyShed or small dome, IMHO...

He wants to put this on rollers and call it an observatory

I was in Costco on Friday and saw a completed 7.5x7.5 new building for sale. It
occured to me that it would make a good observatory. It is more secure than the
arrow shed. Could you and the board members please take a look at the building
photos and tell me what you think?
