Wondering what you guys are looking for in terms of qualifications for
an event coordinator.
I used to be an Officer in the Astronomical Society of New Haven, and I
helped organize the Connecticut Star Party (CSP) for 5 or 6 years.
CSP 20 (in 2010) highlight for me was flying in Carolyn Shoemaker and
David Levy for a great weekend and reunion.
I was also a JPL Solar System Ambassador for a few years.
I wrote the ASNH "Shooting Star" monthly newsletter for 5 years.
I have family ties to Escondido and we try to visit once or twice a year
for a week to 10 days at a time.
I'd love to have yet another reason to be out there every August.
THE best night I ever spent under the stars was at the 2010 Julian
Starfest public night 8 years ago.
The west coast Televue dealer(?) was setup with about half a dozen
scopes and as night fell, I jumped in and started getting people lined
up at the eye pieces and taking observing questions.
I seem to recall a number of planets grouped tight in the west after sunset.
The experience blew my brother in laws mind!
I am not local to SoCal, but I regularly manage remote teams globally.
I do long distance coordination daily.
This sounds just crazy enough to consider.
