I won’t be there tonight, but I do have a few thoughts. As far as I know Laird
has been abiding by the TDS stay limit, so I’m unclear as to exactly what rule
he is breaking. Unfortunately, there’s no rule in place requiring him (or
anyone) to clean the bathrooms or not clutter the warming room. He’s annoying
but there’s no rule against that. At most it sounds like Laird just needs
reminding to not clutter the warming room and that’s been done.
Having said that, it would be nice to see Laird contribute something to defray
his out-of-proportion use of TDS facilities (electricity, paper supplies,
etc.). I’m pretty sure he’s running AC out there, plus the fridges, water
heater, and well pump running all the time.

As one of what is likely only two people who clean the TDS bathrooms and
facilities it affects me personally when people who do almost nothing for
anyone other than themselves, treat the property like it is for their personal
use. If I were to even think of becoming permanent a long term resident of TDS
the bathrooms would be spotless. Some obviously do not understand my
perspective and can brush Laird and Bill's behavior off but the people who
wrote the rules obviously were concerned about the problem Laird is presenting.
Rule 17 specifically addresses people treating the property as a residence and
states that even "the appearance of permanent residency will not be tolerated."
Laird is clearly in violation of this rule and there have been repeated
violations and warnings. I do not think Bill taking the fan warrants further
inquiry but I would argue that it is a violation of Rule 17 as well.
Selectively applying when and to whom rules should be applied is not a good or
legal approach. You are correct. We do not have a TDS police force which
means it is the responsibility of all members to monitor rule violations.
The members have the right and the responsibility to notify the board of
violations which is what I did.
As of this morning I feel the costs outweigh the benefits of visiting TDS.
After all the work I do maintaining the TDS property I do not think it is too
much to ask that people follow the TDS rules and do not become colonizers in
the TDS warming room but apparently some people feel differently about this. I
stand by my position on this issue will happily move on to other issues if
there is little concern about those treating TDS as a homestead.

I took it all in as just another “interesting” day at TDS. I certainly voice
my opinions directly at times, but the two of you were barking orders like you
had some kind of authority.
Bill brought back the fan and Laird picked up his crap. Problem solved!
Yes, Laird has to be told again & again. He is ????? (I will let you choose a
word. You know what I’m talking about). My only problem was listening to the
two of you complain about the two of them. That’s why I went out and hung with
Craig.
Why create all the drama? (He used a club ice chest? Oh my!) Go out there
and have fun. You are not the appointed TDS cops.
