2009 Wrap Up
As I reflect back on 2009 and look forward to the new decade and 2010, I am
reminded of how much has happened within the Seawind family. The year started
with the normal boat shows in San Diego and Miami. The crowds were good and the
interest was high. Boats were sold and the dealer network expanded.
With a number of Seawinds cruising in the Sea of Cortez, the idea of a Seawind
Baja Rally was born. With the help of the crew from Gato Loco , a Seawind 1000
based in the Northern Sea of Cortez, and Moondrifter's Ralph and Helen Marx,
the plan unfolded. The fleet would meet up in Puerto Escondido, Mexico, the
week before Loreto Fest (an annual gathering of Sea of Cortez cruisers). We
would cruise the local islands and end up at Loreto Fest to celebrate the end
of the cruising season, with the annual benefit event that raises money for the
local community. The crew of Gato Loco and Moondrifter shared their favorite
anchorages, while the crews of Sea Esta and Cubo Lista shared meals and good
times for the days leading up to Loreto Fest. Mark Pillsbury, Cruising World's
editor, joined in the fun, got a taste of catamaran cruising at its finest, and
discovered why Seawind owners love their boats so much!... Read More >

San Diego Boatshow Preview
West Coast Multihulls will be making a Big Splash for the New San Diego Boat
show coming up Jan 28-31. On display for the first time in San Diego will be
two of the newest additions to WCM's growing product line.
On display for the sailing catamaran aficionados will be Performance
Cruising's one and only, Gemini 105Mc. With more Gemini's sailing than any
other cat on the market, she is truly a success story beyond all success
stories.
Also on display will be Razzle Dazzle, a 2010 Seawind 1160 from Australia's
premier catamaran builder. Razzle Dazzle is owned by a group of local sailors
who are looking for a couple more partners to share the fun of catamaran
ownership. Come see how you can get your share of sailing, without breaking the
bank!
Last but not least, for the fisherman and sport cruisers of the yachting
community, come check at the new Arrow Cat 30 from Arrow Cat Marine, Inc. This
fast, fuel efficient, state-of-the-art power cat is sure to turn some heads. We
will also have a Corsair Sprint 750 doing demo rides on Saturday and Sunday, so
bring the family and experience one of the coolest rides at the show!... Ticket

Sneak Preview Down Under:
Seawind 1250 Launch and Pittwater Rally
I was not looking forward to the 14 hour plane ride to Sydney from LA (more
like 20 hours door to door), but I admittedly was a bit kiddy when
contemplating a first look at Seawind Catamarans soon to be launched Seawind
1250, a brand new 41ft blue water cruiser. Upon arrival in Sydney, I was
scheduled to be picked up by Seawind's sales and marketing director (my boss)
Brent Vaughn. Realizing my cell phone didn't work in country, I ask a local
bloke, (Australian for dude) if I could borrow his phone to check in on my
ride. Instantly I was in contact with Brent, who was minutes away, and we were
soon speeding through the busy streets of Sydney and on our way to Wollongong
harbor and a quick look at the New 1250.
Having recently come from the Annapolis Sail Boat Show, where we displayed the
award winning Seawind 1160 and Seawind 1000XL, it was obvious the buzz had
begun with regards to the New 1250. Lots of questions, like, how much bigger is
it, what's different, is it just a blown up 1160, and on and on. I was here to
try and gain answers to all the questions and to hopefully get as much sailing
time on the boat as possible... Read More >
