Hi Lawrence—hope all is well with you. Our new screecher is heavier duty than
the original so I think the Ronstan 120 is the one for us. We are still looking
at all options, though. The bigger the wheel, the easier the furling..and more
expense.
Aloha,
Jay

Hello all,
We had Doyle rework our Screecher and install the torsion rope along the luff
and add the Ronstan Series 100 furler.
I've attached some photos of the setup and it has worked perfectly. No
complaints and I wouldn't change anything.
I also have some photos of another Seawind owner that provided images of
their continuous-line furler routed back to the port side of the cockpit.
Let me know if anyone wants them.
I will say that our Screecher is very lightweight and can only be used from
about 15 kts and under.
I'm going to speak with Doyle and see if they will recommend something a
little more robust but similar design.

Hi all,
Our Seawind 1000 has a Fachor continuous line furler. It was on the boat when
we purchase her a few years ago. We replaced the line on it this season and
have not had an opportunity to use it yet here in the Caribbean. We were
having problems will the line slipping out of the mechanism at times with the
old worn line.

Ahoy All,
We would like to replace our Harken screecher bottom furler unit as
it has become very difficult to turn under load. Do any of you have
experience with repairing the original furler or replacing it with a newer,
better unit?
Many Thanks!
Jay
