Ashok Kini takes charge as MD
(The Hindu)

Bangalore April 2. Ashok Kini has taken charge as
Managing Director and Group Executive (National
Banking) of State Bank of India (SBI). Till recently
he was Deputy Managing Director, Information
Technology, and was responsible for drawing up the
blueprint for SBI's technology plan and its
implementation. Mr. Kini, a postgraduate from Madras
Christian College, joined SBI in 1967. He started
SBI's ATM network in the early 1990s, which had now
grown into the largest in the country.
