I am sure you might have seen this, but just in case from CBS

Hello All

In the effort to keep everyone up to date on Pitchblue issues. This one
falls into the "bomb is ticking".

During the week of October 4 until October 7 several abort - signal loss
events were reported with the error "Abort - Signal Loss". Until the
morning on Thursday we were under the impression this issue correlated
to the software upgrade on October 2nd. Many of you will have had no
clue this was going on, or had a few shows with the error "Abort -
Signal Loss"

So why? The problem with the sun outages was that the data streams
created bad data in program descriptors (bit errors in PMT and PAT).
Because of that, the Pitchblue server could mistakenly be told that a
specific channel no longer existed (signal loss) and this state would
persist until the server was restarted. That is why some failures
happened overnight. Our testing on multiple boxes did not reveal it, as
we all had solid signals.

Since then we have learned with almost 100% confidence that this problem
was fully related to sun outages and not to the 2.4 release.

Another patch was sent last night to correct this error. The system now
checks for a corrupted PMT or PAT and replaces it with the next good
table received after the sun outage or other disturbance has ended.

If you experience any "Abort - Signal Loss" issues and you have solid
satellite signals. Please call the roll out center or create a ticket.
Then call us at 212-975-8139

On another note, if you are having any Closed Caption issues, please
call to see if we can help.

Thank you for your patience.
Bob Ross
