I got home from work about 10 pm and was asleep dreaming of the transit
shortly after that. It was great. Poor form for an astronomer, I know.

Well that was a bust.
The skies were clear but otherwise not friendly to planetary observing.
Very unsteady air and mediocre transparency. At 240x the disk showed
flashes of detail but was mostly mush. I may have caught a few glimpses of
Europa's shadow around midnight but nothing definite. No GRS sighting
either. I went back out at 12:30 but the wind kicked up and I'd had
enough. Anyone else have any more luck?

I had just planned to observe from my driveway, but I'd be willing to
meet up somewhere on the south hill.

Starts at about 11:20 w/ Europa, then Io joins the party at 1:40 am. GRS
should be visible the whole time.
