Hi Cindy.  Steptoe was great for the eclipse.  Didn't notice any major light
domes but I wasn't doing any deep sky stuff so I may not have noticed. Both
parts of WSU to the south, and tower mountain area to the north were visible.
The towers and buildings on Steptoe itself block some to the west depending
where  you're set up. The elevation was fantastic.
The biggest potential downfall is wind. It was calm eclipse night up to
about 8:20pm but I think the wind farm to the north suggests that calm
conditions may be the exception.
I was in contact with the parks dept. and they do not lock Steptoe at
night so a trip to check it out on a clear night is a great idea.
Clear skies :-)

Attached is a view to the north.

Mike; how do you like Steptoe Butte as a stargazing site?
