The next meeting of the Spokane Astronomical Society will be held August 5th,
2022. Our club's own Terry H, Mark G, Mike R, and (or) Matt S. will give a
presentation on astrophotography. We will also play the recent KSPS interview
with Terry and hold a question and answer period.
I want to thank everyone for the many suggestions. We explored a number of
different options, and settled on this one for now. It is not far out of the
city, but sports reasonably dark sky and an area where we can set up
telescopes. This was always a bit awkward in the well lit parking lot of the
Spokane Falls Community College, and other locations we've used over the years.
On the other hand, if the planetarium becomes available to us again--even
though the quarters are a bit cramped we would likely return there. There is
almost never any cloud cover or inclement weather to block our view of the
ceiling screen.
I will provide directions to the site in a later message. It is a private
residence with a spacious out building behind. There are two main rooms in the
out building, the smaller of which is used for playing basketball (not a full
court). The larger room will comfortably accommodate 60.
