How much detail were you guys seeing in the belts?

I should also saw....it could also just be crummy skies :) The last time I
had my scope out was last Saturday, so I can't really compare my
observations with yours if yours are more recent. Get out and try again
this weekend if you can.

The river is high now, your theory makes sense. I suggest you test your
theory and try observing from a different viewing location - we have a
couple viewing events planned this weekend. Also you should test around
midnight vs. near sunset when the atmosphere is most active.

I’m wondering if it’s (it really looks like) a high ‘mist’ maybe from the
river spewing moisture in the warmth of the day, then the cold night
condensing it into like a thin fog?
