Hello friends, First of all, let me introduce myself to the 1st Year ppl. This is Varun Sikka frm 5th Semester MCA(SE). Im the Technical Head in InfoXpression 2007. There was some query regarding the events that are part of the InfoXpression 2007. Like before, We have Four main categories of Events: Technical, Cultural, Literary and Sports. We have decided to include the following events in the Technical Category: C/C++ Programming C/C++ Programming event aims at testing the programming skills and proficiency in the languages C, C++. It will consist of set of MCQ?s in the Prelims round followed by the on the spot programming in C/C++. C/C++ Debugging C/C++ Programming event aims at testing the debugging skills in the languages C, C++. It will consist of set of MCQ?s in the Prelims round followed by the on the spot debugging of the given problems in C/C++. Java Programming This event will test the proficiency of participants in Java Language. The team that clears the Prelims round consisting of MCQ?s in Java programming language, will have to face the on the spot programming in java. Algorithms Algorithms event will be a hard coded event for developing algorithms for the given problems keeping in mind the time and space complexities. The teams will be short listed for the main event on the basis of MCQ?s in the Preliminary round. Linux Challenge This event is for the Linux Geeks. The participants in this event will be required to set up the Linux system with the distribution provided by the Organizers followed by the tasks with the Linux System. Open Source Quiz This is a quiz contest that will have questions about open source awareness. The contest will include various rounds including the prelims round for short-listing the candidates for the mains round. Technical Paper Presentation This event consists of the presentation of the various papers prepared by the participants. Each participant will be required to present their papers before the panel of judges. Software Project Presentation This event consists of the presentation of the various Software projects prepared by the participants earlier during their curriculum or for some other purpose. Each participant will be required to present their software project before the panel of judges. The teams will have to submit the synopsis for their project before the fest starts and the projects will be short-listed by the judges for the presentation on the final day. Web Designing The participants will be given a theme, around which they will have to model their website. This event focuses on the design of the website using various advanced graphic tools. Web Programming This event focuses on the programming or scripting part of the web development. It will be based on the development of the websites in ASP/PHP. A preliminary round consisting of MCQ?s based on web technologies will short-list the teams for the final event. Software Engineering (SRS and System Design) It?s an overnight event where participants will be given a problem definition on first day and they will have to do analysis and design of that project and submit their software requirement specification and analysis i.e. DFD and ER diagram next day. Hacking Assault This event will test the skills of the participants to prevent their systems from the vulnerable security threats. Robotics Challenge This event will be for the nerds who are interested in the Chips and Assembly. They will be required to showcase their robotic models and compete with the other hard thinking geeks. We are planning to add 2-3 more events but this will be finalized in a day or two. Cultural, Sports & Literary events will be mailed on the list soon.
