Hi All, This is to inform all the fellow USITians that as proposed earlier, a meeting of the members of the Linux and OpenSource Club was held in SE Lab-2 today at 4 P.M. Few students who had expressed interest in actively particiating in the club activities attended the same. All the members could not make it to the meeting due to the ongoing festival season. The team discussed the future course of action of the club. It was decided that the team would be organizing regular workshops on topics of popular interest in Free and Open Source Software as well as intensive workshops for Linux enthusiasts. Teams also discussed about various possible projects that could be taken up. Some of the options discussed about included-- --Setting up a Single Linux Image Management (SLIM) Server in the Linux Lab . -- Settign up Linux Clusters and an Oracle Database server with RAC. --Implementing a customised MOODLE server for USIT. --Settign up a CMS enabled website for the club to encourage FOSS activities and provide discussion fora for the same. Regards. Anil Giri. Head of Club (Linux and Open Source)
