Afternoon from a very windy Panania,
Below is an email from Danielle, with an invitation for the Writing Discussion
Group. This is a wonderful way we can promote our group. Have a think about it
and please let her know, if you would like to present.
Bye for now, Lilian

AESTSubject: Irish stories
Hi Lilian
You may have seen in our latest program that we have chosen an Irish theme for
our annual end of year conference this year. The Lost In brand is no longer
being used and our conferences will no longer always be a standard 2 day event.
This one will be a two week period of activities on the theme, with a one day
conference on Sat 31 Oct. So, it's more of an Irish Festival, rather than just
a conference.
As part of the activities, we want to invite members of the Writing Discussion
Group to write short stories about the Irish members of their families, or
their Irish research. These could either be presented in an online event in the
week before or the week after the 31st, or published as articles on the
website. The Hang Out session on 30 October will also have an Irish theme, so
some of the stories could be presented there.
Requirements: There aren't many, but for online presentations they should aim
for between 5 minutes to 30 minutes; and for written stories they should aim
for 250w to 2000w and preferably include pictures.
Would you please extend this invitation to the WDG and ask them to start
thinking about what stories they could tell. We will provide more information
about the specifics of the arrangements, such as due dates, soon.
thanks
