Fellow Astronomers!
Lisa Herrmann from the South Mountain Environmental Education Center has
provided us ample notice regarding her request for volunteers for holding a
star party in September or November, and in March 2018. I have included her
email below. Since we have this forewarning, please let me know what dates
you prefer or have time to volunteer, and also copy Lisa. I will then
coordinate with her the best date from the responses and let the group know
what the decision is.
From Lisa:
We certainly loved having Saguaro Astronomy Club out at South Mountain the
couple times it worked out last year and hope you all had enough fun that
you’d be willing to come out again! We’re particularly thinking late
September would work well – maybe the 22nd or 23rd to celebrate the equinox?
Another good time might be on November 24th, which is a day that encourages
people to ‘opt outside’ – carrying that into evening stargazing activities
would be wonderful! We’d also again like something in March – we can work
that date out as it gets closer. But let me know if the September and/or
November dates are of interest to your group. Thanks so much!
