Subject: [sac-board] Board Meeting
I'd like to call a board meeting for Thursday evening, August 27, at JB's
Restaurant at 35th Ave and Northern (where we normally eat after the
meetings).
If you'd like to eat, show up at 5:30 pm*. I'd like to start the actual
board meeting at 6:30 and end by 8:00 pm. Dave, the manager at JB's, said
we could have the "back room" for our event.
For the agenda, I'd like to go over the following:
1) The 5-Mile Meadow star party in September
2) Updating the web page with a PowerPoint "This is SAC" show I am
developing
3) Posting the featured speaker for the next meeting on the web page
BEFORE the meeting
4) Updating the Guest Speakers list on the web page
5) Doing a field trip this fall to someplace in Arizona of astronomical
importance-say, Kitt Peak, Lowell, USNO, the LBT, The Steward Mirror Lab,
and so on
6) Getting a new guest book for meetings and adding an email field so
we can email them a copy of the newsletter rather than printing up a bunch
and handing them out (we'll need a privacy policy statement in the front of
the book)
Any other topics?
Please RSVP whether you will be attending or not.
* I will be flying back to Phoenix from Georgia the morning and early
afternoon of the 27th, but should land by 3:53 and be at JBs in plenty of
time. Should I get delayed or flights scramble, I'll call Chris (and if I
can't get him, AJ) on the cell phone and let them know. Chris (or AJ), if I
call and will be delayed until too late to meet, please contact the board
members by phone and let them know the meeting will be rescheduled.
