If I am getting it right, this needs to be done manually by the LMS
administrator, nothing that the lesson can do to move the course into
history.... right.
Then what exactly is the purpose of issuing an exitAU command?

Is it a question? If so, the answer is no (Saba 3.3.1).
You should set the answer as completed (manager - team - view profiles... I
cannot remember well).
