Thanks Doug. I had already started to reenter this file so that probably hasn't
helped because I didn't get the file I had nearly completed; I got the current
one. This info is like gold so will save for next time. My laptop is abt 6
years old & Google tells me shutting down unexpectidely could be the power
supply 'going'. Till next time; thank you.

Kay, the green tick saves the data to a .cds2 file in your computer.
You can find them at C:\Windows\Programdata\Ryerson Indexer. If you
exit the program at that point, it reads the .cds2 file and restores
your current work.
The .txt file you send John is not generated until you either shut down
the program, click "Prepare to zip" or change the date or ID of the
paper.
Does that answer your query?
Doug.

Kay,
I don't know. I never use it.
But from the look of it, pressing the green tick runs the validation
checks over the data, and points out any errors. Whether it saves
after, I don't know.
Put the question to Rob, via the list.
John
Thanks John
I have done the re-install.
Just checking on the green tick; this is supposed to save data? Yes
or No.

Hi John.
Twice this week I have lost 2 H S files in Ryerson while 3/4 the way
through. I hit TAB then caps lock & my computer totally shuts down.
This last time I was clicking the green tick just in case, however
still lost the lot. Can I reinstall Ryerson. I feel like it is
something to do with me pressing those 2 keys, but I don't feel I
have changed the way I enter the data. I am using firefox & have been
on Windows 10 quite a while now so my first thought was to try a new
install and I can't remember where to get it from. Regards Kay Brooke
