Please see the e-mail sent by Greg Bloom with Senator Udall's office. Let's
make a push to make calls today. My understanding is that Senator Manchin is
wavering. He's on our call list. The other one who's wavering is Senator
McCaskill. She is not on our list. Her number is 202- 224-6154. Her fax is
202-228-6326. A city and zip in her state is St. Louis, 63112.
Things are very fluid right now with different factions in the House fighting
and different factions in the White House fighting. The latest is that Trump
doesn't think funding of CHIP should be part of this. Though he doesn't listen,
here's the number for the White House: 202-456-1111.
Keep pushing!!!!

Udall Opposes House GOP’s Temporary Funding Proposal with No Solution for
DREAMers WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Senator Tom Udall declared his opposition to
the House Republicans’ proposal to yet again temporarily fund the government
through Feb. 16 without addressing the nation’s critical priorities. The
Republican bill doesn’t include protection for 800,000 DREAMers – including
7,000 in New Mexico – whose legal status is in jeopardy because President Trump
canceled the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program. It also would
further weaken the Affordable Care Act, putting more New Mexicans at risk of
losing health insurance they depend on, and it fails to include disaster
assistance for Puerto Rico, Texas and other regions still recovering from last
year’s devastating storms and wildfires. He released the following statement:
“The Republicans’ bill is irresponsible, and l can’t support it. We need to
stop kicking the can down the road, vote on a bipartisan Dream Act, and work
together on a responsible bipartisan budget agreement that adequately funds our
national security and the needs of our communities -- in New Mexico and across
the nation. So President Trump and the Republicans have a choice: they can
either come to the table and negotiate in good faith on a responsible funding
agreement and protection for DREAMers – or they can cause a government
shutdown.” ###
