Hello friends - International Peace week activities that will be celebrated
here in ABQ include events described below. Flyers attached. Please add this
information to your organization's media.
Help Create a Human Peace Sign on Friday September 21st Join hundreds to help
create Albuquerque’s first human peace sign on UNM’s Johnson Field for the
United Nations designated International Day of Peace. Start time will be
4:00pm. This event is co-sponsored by the Abq Center for Peace and Justice, Abq
United Nations Association, UNM Peace Studies Program, and Campaign
Nonviolence.
In addition to the Human Peace Sign, Albuquerque will celebrate the
International Day of Peace with a Peace Party (following the Peace Sign event)
at the Center for Peace and Justice at 202 Harvard SE. Activities will include
music, a mural project, root beer floats, and brief presentation on "Human
Rights Here and Now: Implementing Human Rights treaties Locally." MORE
