The County Clerk still needs VRA volunteers to assist with registering new US
citizens at a naturalization ceremony on August 8th. If you've never done this
before, put it on your bucket list! Seeing the happiness and joy of our newest
Americans is a wonderful experience! If interested, please contact Katherine
Korte directly. They really need people who speak other languages as many new
citizens have not mastered English.

Subject: August 8 Naturalization Ceremony
Hello VRA Volunteers:
The next naturalization ceremony the Clerk’s Office is staffing is on August 8
at Sid Cutter Pavilion at Balloon Fiesta Park. I would like everyone to meet at
9 a.m. I frankly don’t know where this event is actually located on the
premises, so just search for me and our Clerk’s tables! I am hoping the USCIS
will have directional signage to assist us all.
A few things that would be helpful:
1. If you have a clipboard, it is helpful to bring it. I don’t have a
whole lot of these.
2. You don’t need to bring your VRA Forms, as this is a Clerk’s Office
event and you are working on behalf of Clerk Stover. We will provide you with
forms.
3. If you speak a language other than Spanish or German, please send me
this phrase in the language you speak: “Hi, I can help you register to vote.” I
will make a sign for you.
Thanks very much,
Kathy Korte
