"...The bad news are the SL66 received a tremendous blow on the magazine,
deforming one of the chromed parts beside the back cover and destroying the
little tab to change 120/220; it seems the blow affected internal
mechanical parts too, the film advance mechanism is stiff and the focusing
mechanism is no longer engaged to the lens carrer FFS had repaired the
camera, I have a bag plenty of the old parts they replaced. I don't know
where, when and how the camera received the blow. FFS told me to send them
the SL66 again, thye will overhaul it and the guarantee will work if the
blow was not the cause for the mechanical problems. This is the first time
I have this kind of trouble with a camera after dozens and dozensof
national and international transactions. The blow was already visible in
the SL66 when the customs officials opened the box in front of me, the
labels and bands look original and the box is entire without blows marks or
the like. I will wait some time to take a decision about to send the camera
to Germany again or to keep it for spare parts.
The blow on the SL66 is one of the risk you assume sending cameras to
other destinations, I can't blame someone about the blow, I have no means
to do it, I will trust the FFS opinion on the guarantee if I decide to
send the camera there again..."
