Definitely do not put the Braun on the Sony. I have used a Wein Safe-Sync Hot
Shoe adapter to fire an old 300v flash gun but I think most digital cameras
take about 5v and the 6008 about 25v.
Unless a flash was made to work with a camera or use SCA for that camera, I
would always work on the safe side.

I don't know if you can get one by tomorrow, but the Wein Safe-Sync Hot Shoe
adapter allows one to safely use older flashes with high triggering voltages on
modern camera.

Hello Jan:
The Braun Hobby flash has a triggering power of 225v, this is
a terrific voltage for elctronic and digital cameras, I wouldn't use it except
for a mechanical camera. In fact, it is not recommended for the Canon Eos, it's
the only camera reference for this list:

Some strobes (and infrared strobe triggers) use high voltages in the trigger
circuit. For mechanical cameras, this is fine — but many newer,
electronically-driven ...
Perhaps, it could resist some shots, I don't know, but it's your risk

Hi Everyone,
Merry Christmas from Bonn!
Just a quick question: I want to take a formal family group shot tomorrow at
Christmas. The Rolleiflex is currently loaded with Provia 100 and I want to use
the digital Sony 7II as a backup.
I need to use flash, but have no Sony flash yet. How safe is it to use my
compact older Braun Hobby 17BC in the hot shoe of the Sony 7II (triggering a
larger off camera Braun unit with wireless slave release attached)?
