The Rolleiparkeil is part of the Proxars -CZ- Curtar
-Schneider- and early Rolleinars sets for the Rollei TLR cameras, it's one
of two lenses (the prism) for the viewing lens, you put the viewing lens
Rolleipar -older version name- or viewing lens Rolleinar-newer version name-
on the camera viewing lens and afterward you attach the Rolleiparkeil at the
Rolleipar or viewing lens Rolleinar to compensate parallax, it means this
older set version has three elements, the lens for the taking lens, the lens
for the viewing lens and the Rolleiparkeil to compensate the parallax, they
are called Rolleiparkeil 1 or 2 according the set
1 or 2, these standard numbers have to do with the closest focusing distance
difference for the sets.
The early post-war BI ( bayonet size in roman numbers, please don't confuse
it with the Rolleinar standard numbers according the focusing
distance)Rolleinar and Curtar sets manufactured up to 1955 need a
Rolleiparkeil for the Rolleinar for the camera viewing lens and the pre-war
BI and friction Proxar -CZ- sets need a Rolleiparkeil for the viewing lens
Proxar or Rolleipar.
The BIII Rolleinars sets from 1953 and BI and BII Rolleinars sets from 1956
don't need the separated Rolleiparkeil, they have two elements only because
the Rolleiparkeil was integrated with the Rolleinar for the viewing lens
making one element.
