Robert Doisneau (1912-1994), the famous French photographer is also known because he used the Rolleiflex as main camera for several decades, the following image is a 1947 self-portrait where he appears holding his Rolleiflex Standard camera: http://www.flickr.com/photos/sindestino/3581649743/ F&H simultaneously manufactured the Rolleiflex Automat and the Rolleiflex Standard along several months, the Standard production ended on May 1938, the last version was provided with a CZJ Tessar 3,5/7,5cm lens and a Compur 00, 1-1/300th s, T and B shutter. The Standard kept a high demand and it was one of the reasons F&H produced the Standard New from May 1939 to June 1941, other main reason was to cover the price gap between the Rolleicord and the Rolleiflex; the Standard New had as basis an Automat prototype without film sensing mechanism, without self-timer, with levers replacing the wheels for f/stops and shutter speeds however keeping the Tessar lens and the Compur Rapid shutter.
