Peter:
I was interested in the Praktisix too. I find it the most attractive
of the Praktisix-Pentacon Six-Exakta 66 lot. Albeit the one I won on
EBAY a year ago was in terrible shape internally and THE expert on the
subject, Carsten Bobsin in Berlin (praktisix@xxxxxx) told me that
unfortunately the Praktisix is the least reliable of the lot.
Serious users of the camera like the German zoologist Prof. Grzimek
typically went through several bodies in a short time in order to keep
shooting.
I might still buy a clean one some day just for it's looks and to get
the sharp Biometar.

I just picked up a Praktisix, which is a Kamera-Werkstatten/Pentacon 6x6
slr resembling an Exakta 66 crossed with KW's 35mm Praktina. Shutter is
FP, and lens is a postwar, coated CZ-Jena Biometar (a Biotar variant?)
80mm 2.8, #5594711. Will see if it remotely compares with 80mm 2.8
Tessar on Super Ikonta -- not likely!
