Hi Everyone (esp. Marc), Has anyone ever heard of "shutter bounce" in Zeiss Contax cameras? Supposedly it's "...a very rare phenomena. It is not detected by a shutter speed tester because it happens at the end of the movement of the lower shutter curtain. What happens is the lower curtain descends fully and then bounces back up to meet the descending upper curtain prematurely. It can only be diagnosed with film. Shutter curtain bounce is unique to the Contax shutter." This is what my "restored" Contax IIIa developed after it came back from repair with H. Scherer. Test roll had partially shaded and unexposed frames. So it's going back under warranty. Needless to say I am less than pleased given the $$$ repair. Jan
