Well, my fears were only fears. The Rebel T1i
works quite nicely with a variety of flashes,
though, of course, only on the flash's internal
circuitry.

It's funny, I have this cheap little Kitstar flash which has a sensor to
control exposure which I bought back in the late 70's to use with my Rollei
35S. It works perfectly with my Rollei TLR's.
My Nikon SB-800 and SB-600 with their sophisticated TTL circuity do not work
at all with my Rollei TLR's even in their manual mode. The Rollei just won't
trigger them. That I don't understand. I thought a PC sync was a PC sync,
just closing a circuit. Apparently not.
