Filter manufacturing was often farmed out to other companies. While lenses were made by the Yashica Optical company, many times companies like Marumi, Hoya, Tiffen, and others made filters for companies like Canon, etc. For example, many Canon filters were made by Tiffen, Minolta branded filters were made by Marumi, Pentax branded filters were made by Hoya. Off topic but I'm guessing folks here can answer the following questions. I acquired a Pentax 67 camera recently which came with a bunch of goodies thrown in the box. I have an 82mm Contax orange filter and I'm curious about who manufactured Contax filters. I have an unopened pro-pack of 120 Vericolor III film dated 1999, 160 ASA. I never used this film...can someone tell me if it was the pre-cursor to todays Kodak Portra 160 film?
