Subject: [rollei_list] Loose ring on Rollei/Zeiss 25mm 2.8 Distagon for SL35

The outer ring (what is, basically, a filter ring) on my Zeiss 25mm f.2.8 Distagon lens, Rollei QBM mount, is very loose. It is the wide outer ring at the forward part of the lens, and it has the internal threads where filters are attached. This ring has become progressively looser over time, and it now rattles around like crazy. As far as I can tell, there are no optical elements attached to the ring, so it doesn't appear to affect the performance of the lens, but I'd love to tighten it. It doesn't appear to be a part that screws in or out, and I don't want to force anything, but I can't figure out what holds the ring in place.

Is anyone here familiar with this lens? Any hints on how to fix it?

I have a nearly complete set of Rollei QBM lenses for the SL35 series cameras, and I own a couple of 3003 bodies and a 3001. I don't shoot much film anymore, but I'm hoping one day there will be an opportunity to use all these lenses with a full frame digital camera.

Thanks in advance,

I don't know this lens specifically but have you tried just turning the ring, it might be threaded in. The usual ways of fastening rings are: threads, small set screws (can be hard to see), and retaining clips. Clips are usually obvious so probably not the method here.
