A fine description of the SL 66. About your Velvia 50: is it the ‘new’ RVP50 or
the old RVP. I still have a supply of old RVP Velvia in the freezer.

I finally loaded a Fuji Velvia 50 in the Rolleiflex SL66; the film insert is
easy to load, however you need to pay attention to the film paper back
position, the black internal side must look to your face when it is on the
pressure plate, in the other hand, the paper external side looks to your
face for the TLR. The SL66 film insert also has two rollers for the
automatic film feeler mechanism, but the film does not pass between them, it
passes over the upper roller. After you placed the film insert into the
magazine, you use the magazine button to advance the film to the number 1,
you press this button afterward and camera crank takes the film advance
control; the sl 66 requires to have the shutter cocked before to do any
operation.Rollei developed the first 6x6 SLR prototype in 1955, Reinhold
Heidecke ordered the designers a camera ergonomics familiar for the TLR
users, this prototype did not advance due to the Viktor Hasselblad/Reinhold
Heidecke agreement, however when Rollei developed the SL66 in the '60s the
Heidecke idea was respected, this way the SL66 has a focusing knob on the
left side, a film advance crank on the right side , a film feeler mechanism
and a postion for the shutter release button regarding the crank like the
TLR and yes, you feel the SL66 very familiar to use for us, Rolleiflex TLR
users, except for the camera weight..
I will use the Sonnar 4/150 as standard lens for this film roll.
