Very close Richard. In 1969 ASA became ANSI. =20 Originally it was founded as the American Engineering Standards Committee in 1918 and reorganized as American Standards Association (ASA) in 1928. In 1966 it was reorganised as the United States of America Standards Institute and then 1969 it changed its name to American National Standards Institut (ANSI). DIN is Deutsches Institut f=FCr Normung and was founded in 1917. They have a website with more information.
