A couple of weeks ago, Hector did a concert in Portland. The organ was in the
loft, so he had video cameras set up with a large projection screen set up at
the front of the sancturary, whereby he could switch from a wide view to a
closeup of his feet.

I had my daughter sit in the loft right next to Hector in the "ring side seat."
Tim Stephenson's daughter was also up there for the close up view. Although
there were a couple of hundred folks in the sanctuary, It was like a personal
concert up there! My daughter is still talking about it! (she is nine). She
was whispering to me as she named some of the works Hector performed (Trumpet
Voluntary in D, Jesu, Ode to Joy, etal,) and the MIDI voice patches being used.
I guess she has poked around with the MIDI sounds during her piano practice
more than I realized!

I have seen Hector do the "Flight of the Bumblebee" a couple of times, and it
blows me away.. but this time he did Malotte's "Ave Maria" ... simply and
beautifully. Harp consuming both hands on the swell, and playing the melody
(Cello) on the pedals.... AWESOME!

I have always maintained that hearing Hector Olivera is wonderful but
watching him work takes it up to incredible!
