I had a very similar situation at a Presbyterian Church I played at 3 years
ago -- I got the 2.5% raise after year 1 -- they ran the pastor off and the
associate and all the rest of the staff -- I remained and kept a myriad of
things running including the church sound system and office computers.
After the new minister was hired (almost 3 years later) I asked for a raise
since I hadn't gotten one in over 3 years, and was told wasn't worth what
they were paying me presently. I found a new church and a 2K a year
increase right off the bat.
