The church isn't available yet, but Aaron found a decent alternative while
we wait. It's the Gaithersburg IHOP, where we can play from 7pm until
whenever (it's 24 hours). Aaron, Eric, Shiv, and Matt tried it on Friday and
everything seems fine.
Pros:
1. Food and drink
2. Comfortable seating and very close-by parking
3. Decent tables for gaming - we easily played Caverna and Tapestry,
for example.
4. Plenty of tables all night
5. Friendly and supportive staff
6. FREE SPACE!
Cons:
1. You must buy a meal. The good news is that their IHoppy menu offers
big meals for just $6. My omelet and pancakes meal was actually GOOD! Must
tip generously.
2. Lighting is adequate, but not great.
3. The neighborhood and late night parking may make some gamers a bit
nervous. Since we're a team, we can do bulk escorts to cars. The parking lot
was quiet & safe when we left at 2 am and well lit.
4. No library. You must bring your own games or play what others have
brought
I'd like to ramp up our presence to 8 - 13 gamers for this coming Friday.
