Most people would use a Y harness for dual 'chutes.

It's about 8 pounds fully loaded. The model parts are 84 ounces, plus
add all the epoxy and finishing supplies, plus hardware, and then add
about 20 ounces of weight in the nose to move the CG forward due to all
the aft end weight with the huge fins. Add an I280 motor and basically
it's a flying brick.
The kit instructions recommend a 48" parachute. I don't have one handy
but I do have a couple of 36" chutes. The total surface area of two 36"
is about the same as one 48" so I thought I'd use those. (Yes, I am
being cheap...)
Any recommendations on how to space them out on the shock cord? Do one
1/3 of the way from the nosecone to the body, and the other one 2/3 of
the way? Should I add a tether to the 2nd one so they end up around the
same level?
Should I stop being cheap and just buy a 48" chute? :)
