Bob:
I live not far from Arcadia, I'd be happy to mentor a TARC team. Since it's
already November, I'm guessing that this would be for the 2020-2021 school
year, correct?

Subject: [roc-chat] TARC Mentors Needed
We are in desperate need of active TARC mentors in Southern California -
especially Orange County and in the Arcadia area. Most TARC teams are
incredibly enthusiastic and dedicated to success. It is quite rewarding to
watch students 6th – 12th grades get hooked on STEM (Science Technology
Engineering and Math) through Rocketry. And many go on to become the engineers
of tomorrow – you can play a part in encouraging that.
To be a mentor you will meet with the teams (3-10 members, 6th – 12th grades).
About 2 hours a week to start is sufficient. You can teach rocketry
fundamentals and construction techniques, as you guide the teams designing,
building and flying their rockets on “F” motors to about 800 ft carrying a raw
hen’s egg. At launches teams usually need a little help preparing their rocket
and getting it on the pad. TARC starts in September end ends the following May.
If you are not familiar with TARC you can visit https://rocketcontest.org/ for ;
more information or contact us off list at bob@xxxxxxxxx<mailto:bob@xxxxxxxxx>
(714) 504-3591 (Eastern Time Zone). We have mentored scores of TARC teams for
over 10 years but no longer live in Southern California.
