[roc-chat] Re: ROC is hosting LDRS 35

The commitment from ROC for this event is very large with MANY man hours of volunteer time to have a great event. I think the board is doing the right thing, keep it at Lucerne, make it easy(er) for volunteers to get there, make it easy to have all the supplies we need, set up early, the list goes on. I'm not a member of the board but I do appreciate all they do in setting up the launches. I'm pretty sure that Tripoli was aware of the constraints ROC has due to our site, having said that they still picked ROC to host knowing that ROC (and the ROC board) will deliver a safe well organized event. I commend the ROC board for taking a pragmatic approach (realistic goals) to LDRS 35 and hope they get LOTS of help for the event at Lucerne.

Good job ROC board, um, need some help?

I can think of a couple. Taking the show on the road is a logistical nightmare. I think Lucerne lakebed is better than Jean. Lucerne is our home. If you think it is hot in Lucerne, it is a lot hotter in Nevada. There are probably more. Down side to keeping in at our home base...we have to fly by fire Marshal rules, nothing larger than M (any single M that is) and there is no gambling.

It was just announced that LDRS 35 has been awarded to ROC.

Mark your calendar for June 6 to 12, 2016! The specific
launch dates are to be determined, but that is the
expected time frame.

More details will be available shortly.

Thanks to Allen Farrington for spearheading our bid
proposal!
