Hi Carlos.
Possibly. But honestly it comes down to logistics, insurance issues, BLM, FAA
Waivers ect. Tripoli Vegas, for now at least, is holding launches every third
Saturday. The bottom line is the fact that everyone would still need to drive
to Jean to fly anyway so it would be easiest if someone wants to launch they
just drive to Jean on their scheduled launch day / weekend and launch with
them. We would not be able to hold our own launch on the Jean site on the same
or different weekend anyway due to Permitting, insurance, ect. Hope that makes
sense. Tripoli Vegas is a great club, friendly, has a great site and would
welcome anyone from ROC to join them for launching your rockets.

Tripoli Las Vegas Nevada has had numerous launches at Jean.... Perhaps you
could join with them or visit the dry lake on a weekend they are not meeting.
I know some of your members have gone there for launches.
I saw recently that the draconian lockdown edicts from our governor have been
overturned... perhaps there is a loosening of the bonds coming soon!!!! I'm in
LA county and the restrictions are less if it's an outdoor event. My Remote
Control Airplane clubs are all flying with a "recommendation" for covering but
not a requirement.
Gregg Stockdale --- I was all set to join ROC until Covid hit and I've been
visiting the Jean launch site. I'm in San Dimas, so your club is much closer
to me.

ROC Members,
The ROC Board has been actively looking into possible ways for us to legally
host a launch. Like all of you, we want to get back to smelling AP and enjoy
the camaraderie of our rocket friends. With safety being a core value of
rocketry, compliance with stated rules and regulations are fundamental. The
guidance from San Bernardino County is that no group gatherings are permitted
for more than three family households. No obvious exceptions.
The purpose of this note is to reach out to our membership to see if someone
has an expertise in this area to help find a way to comply with the rules and
hold a launch. Should you have some ideas please feel free to reach to any one
of the current Board members and pass along your ideas. In the meantime we will
all diligently watch the latest guidance provided by the county.
