Oh, I didn’t know it was done at that time. I have done welding before (not
real fond of it due to a severe burn) and I completely suck at soldering. I
mean, I have done plenty of soldering as a custom car stereo installer. All my
solders have held, but they never looked pretty.

Such enthusiasm!!
We usually do that at trailer cleanings. I am not sure when the next one is.
Scott and Leslie have a "Rocketeer's Dream Garage" of equipment including a
grinding wheel with wirewheel that is super effective at alligator clip
cleaning.

My favorite thing to do is to strip, rewire, and solder on new clips. :) I
also got trained on how to arc-weld at the trailer cleaning.

I would like to volunteer to clean all the launch wires before next months
launch. How do I go about it? While attempting to launch April’s rocket for the
last time Saturday I overheard a conversation about how the alligator clips get
wire brushed and cleaned and how launches such as Saturday’s can really “foul
up” the clips. Continuity on that particular set of wires was spotty at best
and Lakeside noticed that the clips were covered with carbon buildup.

So I would like to get them cleaned up before Jan’s launch for the club.
