Richard,
I am also using an EggTimer TRS, and I've been happy with cables and adapters
I got from Amazon and from Data Alliance. I think Data Alliance has more
variety and their site is more specific to antennas, cables etc. so I would
recommend them first; I had already gotten some items off Amazon before I
discovered them.
The way I set up my L1 and L2 rockets is I think similar to what you want to
do. I had the EggTimer TRS in the AV. I ran one of those short pigtail
cables from the EggTimer to the AV bay bulkhead, making a hole just wide
enough so the threaded connector could get through. Then on the other side
was a short RP-SMA extension cable, long enough (say, 15" or so) so that my
antenna ended up near the top of the upper fuselage segment, away from the
ejection charge. I taped the antenna to the inside wall of the tube so it
would not get tangled in the parachute lines. I also stuffed a piece of
Nomex down bay the bulkhead between the ejection charge and RP-SMA extension
cable to prevent damage to the cable. This all worked well.
I was also worried about the end of the cable not being long enough to poke
through the 1/4" bulkhead and mate with extension cable and/or antenna. So,
I bought some RP-SMA couplers that were a little longer but I ended up not
using them. As it turns out the length of the threaded end on the pigtail
was just right -- went through the bulkhead just enough that when I screwed
on the extension cable or antenna it was a nice tight fit.
The only thing I did not like about those little pigtail cables is that the
cable jacket is very stiff. In my 2" minimum diameter rocket I used for L2,
the EggTimer + batteries were already packet in pretty tight and the stiff
cable was annoying to work with. Just flex it several times beforehand to
loosen it up. Or, buy a short cable from Data Alliance. They sell some as
short as 2 inches and are more flexible.
Here are some links to useful pages on the Data Alliance site for cables and
antennas, both for the onboard EggTimer and the receiver on ground:

Note that there are a wide variety of antennas out there; for best
performance with an EggTimer you'll want one tuned for ~900 MHz. I've also
tested with spare antennas off old wi-fi routers and while they work they are
optimized for 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz.

So, that’s reverse polarity SMA. The Featherweight must be regular polarity.
Now, I wonder about a longer bulkhead connection.
Thank you,

I need to run a short cable from the GPS transmitter to the bulkhead of the
alt bay and need to know what config to purchase through Digi-Key or maybe
Amazon.
The antenna is a short one, only 5 cm long. The antenna has a male pin at
the center and the receiver on the GPS unit is female. Is that SMA or
RP-SMA?
Also, since I need to go through a 1/4â thick bulkhead, I was wondering
if there are extra long connectors to go though the thick bulkhead?
Please advise and thank you for your help.
