Cool. Looks like it'll have to be Aerotech motor in either 180 or 240 variety. Can ROC light up 3 Quickburst Twiggy's? Those would be (I guess) my choice for Aerotech clustering of the igniters I already have. Or I could dip my own magnalite as in the past. That's one reason why I was leaning towards my first evah CTI cluster. I case of bad breath will light them. :D But AT works. Previously I don't think 3x29 has it's flown on more than 3 G38 Single Use.... I think... --------------------------------------- Jeff Gortatowsky, Redondo Beach, CA | Twitter: JeffGortatowsky | Yahoo: indanapt "(Scientific) Skepticism is not a set of beliefs, it is a set of methods for asking questions about reality." -- Doctor Steven Novella ________________________________ From: Chris J Kobel <Chris.J.Kobel@xxxxxxxx> To: Jeff Gortatowsky <indanapt@xxxxxxxxx>; roc-chat@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Tuesday, May 14, 2013 7:41 AM Subject: [roc-chat] Re: Great Day at Lucurene 5/11/2013 Jeff, I have an AT 29/240 or a 29/180 (after I fly it Thurs/Fri) for you to borrow. It occurred to me about halfway to the I15 I had signed up for LCO. #%@!! I completely forgot. Will not do that again. Besides most of you old timers know I'll be doing more than my fair share at the mic for ROC-Stock. Nonetheless I owe the club an apology. I was feeling a little under the great weather after a long walk, picked up my just, and drove off without thinking. I want to applaud the interesting setup this month. With maybe one more middle pad with 1/4 rod, I think it would have been very good indeed. I just can't tell you how happy I am to see a dual checkin line. I know on somedays the mix will be different so things could vary, but what I experienced was excellent throughput on the mid and back pads except of a slight shortage of 1/4 rods. And I am sure if we'd done it the other way, it would have been rails instead. No winning there. I wonder if a adaptable approach is not a good idea to be explored. You set up a minimum amount you see what happens. Then if things get backed up you solicit help RIGHT THEN AND THERE, to get a few more pads setup. As demand wanes, you stop and solicit help RIGHT THEN AND THERE, to put away the extra pads. Done right, total pause time could be 10 to 15. Who is gonna complain when you are adding capacity? It's just a weird idea... but something worth exploring if as nothing more than a thought experiment. I enjoyed working with the kids and their parents in the morning. Great teamwork! It would probably have been helpful to have more Low Power launch pads out. See the pictures. Kids are the future of everything. They really enjoyed launching their rockets and seeing the high power rockets go up. We do need more volunteers all around. I spoke with a number of adults at the launch who's first time it was. I encouraged them to come and volunteer in the future.
