Today's show, among other things takes a brief look at the connections
between our common folk heritage and its impact on other music.
English folk song collector Cecil Sharp spent 2 years in the
Appalachians between 1916-1918, and the descendants of some of those who
met him register their gratitude to him and others like him who thought
that their music, their speech, and their way of life was important (I
envy people with a dialect as a mark of identity).
In the nature of things or, at least my weekly 2 hours on The Ride,
