Hello All,
I have received a call from the patient this morning and she is in dreadful
pain and certainly will not be leaving hospital today. The doctor, in whom she
has great confidence, has had to increase the dose of morphine.
I had already provisionally booked a visitor slot for this afternoon so I
should not have any problem getting past the sentries. I need to visit her, if
for no other reason than to pay for her access to Netflix which she wants to
watch by way of distraction!
She has arranged for her sister to stay with a friend in Cannes tonight. From
the sound of her I cannot see her being discharged tomorrow either so, if
necessary, I will take the house keys to Jean tomorrow if she is unable to stay
a further night with the friend.
We just have to take it day by day. In the meantime, we should take a leaf out
of the Geneva Hash book: Hurdle the weak, trample the dead.
