The exercise will begin on KEA USB with a net call of aaa3rd/x. an alternate frequency is kee. the starting time is approximate. regions three stations are to check into the net as soon as possible and participate for at least three hours total during the exercise if they wish to receive credit for exercise participation. See the attached alert message for further exercise details. 4. Region three stations are to generate incident notification/eei reports. based on mars 101 unit 7 instructions for exercise reports. The Southeast Region US Army Military Hospitals may be placed on an operational alert status effective this date. While details are not completely known, "SERMC" may or may not have need to use the Region 4 HF channels in support of their activities, (actual event or exercise). US Army MARS Region 4 will operate on a non-interference basis to SERMC effective immediately through 6 May 2009, unless this notice is subsequently rescinded. US Army MARS Region 4 operations will continue as scheduled, however, all members are advised to support our SERMC subscribers should they enter any of the Region 4 nets, or request communications assistance of us. 2. Tennessee Army MARS in conjunction with and cooperation of a number of agencies and subscribers conducts a deployment and training exercise effective this date through 2 MAY 2009. This is a Region 4 coordinated exercise which is designed to accomplish NIMS and Army MARS training objectives. All Region 4 Army MARS members are encouraged to monitor and participate in this exercise. Additional information will be forwarded to all members via email and radio as appropriate. a. The Tennessee / Region 4 exercise is designed to flex the communications resources throughout Region 4 and even into some other Regions. It will involve HQS Army MARS and a number of other agencies and organizations. b. Inquiries on exercise events to include current HF channels being used may be determined by sending an email to AAT4TTN@xxxxxxxxxxx and requesting the information. Members are encouraged to use the Winlink-2000 system for all emails sent during this exercise. c. The scenario for the exercise will be made available through a series of alert notifications and command messages from HQS Army MARS, AAA9EC/AAM4ETN, AAM4RE, and other MARS staff officers. The exercise will consist of three phases: Alert & Deployment, Operational, and Redeployment. There will be an end of exercise "quick critique" conducted on the exercise's HF net on Friday evening (approximately 8-9 PM EDST). 3. Monitoring the US Army MARS Region 4 Call-Up HF channel, KEA, is recommended for maintaining watch during the exercise deployment on 30 April. Members are also encouraged to flex the US Army MARS HF guard channels (KMC on USB, KEE on LSB) by conducting communications checks with AAA9USA throughout the exercise. 4. All US Army MARS Region 4 scheduled nets and "Road Ahead 101" Training are suspended effective 301300Z APR 2009 through 020200Z MAY 2009 with the exceptions of the following nets: a. AAA4RD/B b. AAA4RD/Q c. All Local VHF Nets. Regular scheduled Region 4 nets and "101 Training" will resume on 2 May 2009. 5. All members are reminded to keep a log of individual participation in this exercise to include details of significant events, etc., in order to document After Action Reports. All members participating are requested to send your AARs to your respective SMDs or their designated representatives within three days after the end of exercise.
