Black History Month Black History Month is an annual celebration of achievements by African Americans and a time for recognizing their central role in U.S. history. It’s an important time for workplaces to recognize African Americans’ role throughout history and promote diversity within their organizations addressing the root systemic causes of inequity. Taxes Tax season is now open. Many of the pandemic tax benefits from the past few years have expired. The IRS has warned that refunds could be smaller this year. Learn about 2023 tax changes and other important tax updates HERE.
Veterans Day Poster Contest  The 2023 National Veterans Day Poster Contest is open for submissions. This contest is open to all. Your art should reflect this year’s theme of “Service.” Submissions are due by 11:59 p.m. (EDT) on April 1, 2023. For more information on this national contest, click HERE.
SNAP Emergency Allotments Emergency allotments for South Carolina households receiving benefits through the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program will be ending in January. Starting February 1, 2023 all SNAP households will go back to their regular monthly benefit amount. A household’s regular SNAP benefits will not change as a result of the emergency allotments ending. Beginning January 3, 2023, SNAP recipients will be able to view their regular monthly SNAP benefit amount and their emergency allotment amount online, at https://benefitsportal.dss.sc.gov/#/eai/eaiinquiry. For more information on the program, click HERE.
