UPDATED: COVID-19 Vaccine FAQs
Two COVID-19 vaccines were approved, and the rollout has begun. South
Carolina is currently in phase 1A of vaccine distribution, including adults
70+, healthcare workers, and mission-critical workers. SC DHEC has
information about vaccine development, availability, providers and more. You

Masks for Nonprofits
Thanks to Bank of America, SC Thrive, partnered with Central Carolina
Community Foundation, is distributing disposable masks (PPE) to nonprofits in
the Midlands that serve the most vulnerable populations, such as
low-to-moderate income families, rural communities, and communities of color
that have been disproportionately impacted by the coronavirus. The masks are
available for staff, volunteers, and clients of Midlands nonprofits, as well
as frontline workers, schools and health centers serving these communities.
Interested organizations can fill out a form to request masks HERE.
Navigating Mental Health Apps
Mobile mental health apps have experienced a growth in use, especially since
the start of the pandemic. Experts say that apps can be a useful resource for
people facing a mental health challenge. The Washington Post recently
discussed suggestions for finding the mental health app that can work for

UPDATED: Second Round Economic Impact Payments
On December 21, 2020, Congress passed a bill that included an additional
Economic Impact Payment of $600 per person (children included). The President
still needs to sign this bill, but the Secretary of the Treasury expects
payments to begin as early as the end of 2020. Check back for more updates on

Still haven’t received your second stimulus payment? You may be eligible for
the Recovery Rebate Credit while filing your 2020 tax return. You can learn

UPDATED: Reopening the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP)
In the new stimulus funding, the Paycheck Protection Program is reopening.
There are some changes in this round, including a smaller maximum loan and
smaller staff limits. If your organization is looking to apply for a second
Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loan, there are some updates to the
application process. Learn basic guidelines and find a few resources on PPP
from Together SC HERE. South Carolina Association for Community and Economic
Development will be holding a webinar to discuss guidelines and the
application process for the PPP loan. This event is in collaboration with
