Good morning everyone,
With the public health risk posed by COVID-19, it was felt that there was no
way to ensure that our upcoming nature walk and archaeology activity did not
contribute to the spread of the virus. Therefore, the Congaree Creek Heritage
Preserve Nature Walk on Saturday April 11th and Archaeology Volunteer Lab Day
on Monday April 13th will be canceled until further notice. We must take every
precaution to protect our activity participants and staff.
SCDNR wants to reiterate how much we hate to cancel these events, but with new
recommendations from Governor McMaster and the Center for Disease Control and
Prevention regarding public gatherings, we felt it was necessary to do our part
to help prevent the spread of this virus.
We will keep you updated on future cancellations/ rescheduled events.
