We hope you enjoy the photos (*see link below*) from this second half of
our work in Kenya this winter. Here are the highlights of what we have
accomplished on this very productive trip:

·        Began the construction process on an 8 classroom, 2 story school
at St. Mary Magdalene Orphanage in Kisumu, Kenya

·        Held our 5th annual eye clinic.  This year the clinic was near
Chulaimbo, Kenya. 59 cataract surgeries were performed, several operations
for retinoblastoma, 131 pairs of reading glasses distributed and 400
patients treated for varying eye problems.

·        Opened latrines built at Mang’uliro Primary school in Butere,
Kenya.

·        Planned classroom construction/renovation at Mang’uliro Primary
school

·        Planned construction of latrines at Mang’uliro High School

·        Purchased books for Mang’uliro High School

·        Started well-drilling process for clean water at Springs of Life
Orphanage

·        Started process to expand administration block at Mbaka Oromo
Primary School

·        Visited the homes of current and graduates of JHH scholarship
program in areas throughout Kenya

·        Met with self-help group in Homa Bay, Kenya supported by JHH for a
progress report

·        Worked with student groups, adult groups and orphans to further
support for better living conditions. Thanks to JHH Board member *Marty
Cardona* for all of her hard work on this trip working with kids in
pre-school and her passion for orphans.  Thanks to her daughter OB-GYN *Marcy
Mulconry* who spoke to women’s groups about women’s health issues at
various JHH locations.
